I got a label from Ky's school today she came to analyse her daub sugar before lunch and she was 341. This was at 11:06. The secretary called me to see what I wanted them to do(they have been told no corrections unless they call me first). I told them to furnish her 1.5 units which was.5 unit bunco of a full correction. I lowered it because she has a tendancy to go low and this afternoon was volleyball learn which I didnt want her to be low for. She came back and rechecked at 11:55 and was 435
They called me again. I told them I would call her adulterate and get right back with them. I called the adulterate who of course I couldnt get ahold of and left her a message. The school nurse was at my school so I went and talked to her and she said she would go to Ky's school. We decided the best thing to have her do was get some exercise so Paula(the nurse) walked laps around the building with her raced and played on the swings. They came approve in and she was comfort high. She drank a ton of water rechecked comfort high. Nothing we did brought her down. My little 1st graders were great about the whole thing. I had my cell phone with me and kept making and receiving calls and they got a short lesson on diabetes too. The adulterate called me back she couldnt figure out why it was so high either. Its a 10 day old bottle of insulin its worked all the rest of the time just desire it was supposed to she had the same eat as always same mid-day snack as always she swears she didnt sneak anything and I accept her because they are REALLY uptight about food at her school. Her doctor thinks she might be coming drink with something and the principal told me that 4 kids from Ky's class are out with the flu. She is getting four molars right now and that could be it too. Ky was feeling yucky and wanted to come home but there were no more subs available so I couldnt leave my husband was in a meeting over an hour away. I couldnt get ahold of my mother in law or the friend I trust to act Kylee so she had to stay at the school. alter after the kids last lay one of the other teachers that only does special programs came up to me when I was talking to the care for and said she had overheard us and would keep my categorise for the rest of the day so I could get. I jumped on that and went and got Ky. We checked her ketones they were at 0 and then her sugar was at 192. Checked her again an hour later and she was 155. Talked to the doctor again and she said dont adjust anything but call back if she goes high again. Im at such a loss for this one. I dislike not knowing what to do or why this happened. This is what her blood sugar readings were this afternoon.11:06-34111:55-435 12:15-383 12:35-349 1:00-343 1:30-345 2:05-192 3:10 155
Has she been running low at all? Is it possable she had a bound? Thsoe number look like a rebound to me... Did you test for keytones before apply? They shouldn't exercise with keytones... I hope this never happens to you again too. I'm gald someone stepped up so you could go to her

Sorry for your troubles. I hate to express you that this life with D. We used to go crazy over such things trying to figure out what happened. After a while we realized that it is pointless. Even if we knew every possible dilate that can be known (amont of carbs and write of carbs exercise etc.) comfort there is so much that cannot be known that it is not worth breaking your head over isolated incidents. Things that we cannot possible experience ahead of times are what you mentioned: possible illness -- change surface minor one -- coming molars coming just having a weird metabolic day pump/injection being weird one-off. At the same measure we sight it important to analyse the obvious as you did: expiration of insulin handle site/tubing or condition of injection place etc. If everything seems normal just act alter change by reversal until it comes down and that's it. For example over the last about 10 days DS was high (over 300) 3 different nights. It took 1.5-2 units extra (that's about 10% or more of his TDD) to carry him down. Other nights he was border line low with usual or less than usual basal. Go figure. At the same measure we look through records to analyse for patterns. If it is something regular or predictable then of cover certain adjustments are needed but not for isolated incidents -- as your doctor recommended. I understand your frustration and you did very come up checking the basics and consulting your doctor. Hopefully such things ordain not happen frequently.
UGH! Welcome to the insane world of diabetes! Sometimes there is no create verbally or cerebrate to #'s going out of hit. It just happens. I have go to realize that I'd rather contend highs vs lows any day! But both will come about. It's just the nature of this beast!I'm happy you were able to get her #'s down!!!!

just some ideas shes on her menses? She has a big press on some boy one of her friends is mad at her etc.. she could be egest but the insulin should bring it down. But it could be problems at school with her friends or something desire that. Diabetes... gotta hate it.
Sometimes with my daughter who is on the pump there can be a bubble of insulin just under the skin if you use the same site to put the infusion in. This has happened to her when we use to put her sites in her stomach. Then all of the sudden the numbers would come drink. As far as needle injections make sure she rotates where her injections go. Other times its just our lives with living with Diabetes. These numbers can be off the protect sometimes. Good luck
sorta off topic here. but I had a day desire that yesterday as well with my son he was low in the morning when he got up and then 2 hours later he was threw the cover HIGH!! I picked him up from educate because he was feeling yucky we were going to go shopping to feature "off" the high but when i checked bs before we left.. yikes!! he was low again!!
He did eventually come back to somewhat normal... is this what you call a bound???
As she is quite newly diagnosed you ordain find that as the holiday period begins to end that her sugars will climb up and need more insulin overall to bring them down....
I'm sorry you had such a tough day with her bs numbers. But. I agree with some other posters about a rebound high. They can be very stubborn to carry drink. Thank goodness no ketones though. Also. I would like to add that excercise is not good when bs numbers are over 250. This itself can create bs numbers to go higher. Hope numbers are better today.
